Alimentaria products

Check out Moritz beer here

Alimentaria came about after one of Frank’s trips to Spain.
The abundance of ingredients that were unavailable in Australia got him thinking; maybe we should bring them in ourselves?
Our wholesale division has grown so we not only import food, but also now wine and beer.

On this page we will feature regular updates about the products we import, and those that are on the way.

Below you can find some information about some of the products that we import.

We have distributors around Australia. For their details or any questions you have about Alimentaria, send us an email

Jamon Currasco

Without question, Spain produces some of the greatest cured meats in the world and is most famous for jamon (cured ham). The meat is wonderfully fragrant and has a delicious richness and depth of flavour.
Carrasco is located in the DO Guijelo, southwest of Salamanca where 60 per cent of Iberico ham is produced. It’s a fourth generation family-run business that began in 1895.

The black pigs (Iberico) roam freely in the dehesa (open farm) and eat upwards of ten kilograms of acorns (bellota) per day.

The front leg (Paleta) is cured for 24 months and the hind leg (Jamon) for 36 months.

We serve it in our restaurants at room temperature, thinly sliced with an accompaniment of Catalan tomato bread.

Wine from Bodegas Ponce

Young, up and coming winemaker Juan Antonio Ponce is a passionate advocate of Bobal, a native Spanish grape variety.
Although Bodegas Ponce was only established in 2005, the family has been growing grapes in the region for many years.

They are situated in Manchuela, a lesser-known wine region inland from Valencia.

Juan Antonio learnt many of his skills from his father, who still works in the vineyard today.

The vineyard is worked bio-dynamically and a natural approach is taken in the winery, no filtration or fining.

These old bush vines produce great value wines that offer an alternate to Tempranillo.

Paco & Lola Albarino

Paco & Lola comes from the Salnes Valley in Galicia, northwest Spain.
The star variety of the valley is Albarino, which according to legend was introduced in the 12th century by Benedictine monks from central Europe.

Today the Salnes Valley forms part of the famous DO Rias Baixas.

100% Albarino, this is a white wine with a distinct personality and unique image.
