Arriving from Alsace in 1851, Louis Moritz bought a small brewery which was operational until 1978 when it was forced to close due to financial difficulties.
In 2004 his descendants restarted the oldest beer brand in Barcelona at the same location as the initial brewery, Ronda de Sant Antoni in the Raval.
Louis Moritz’s philosophy was that if 90% of a product is water, then you should invest in excellent water.
Moritz is made using 100% natural spring water sourced from the Montseny – Guilleries National Park north of Barcelona.
Clean, pale and very drinkable. Moritz Lager is often described as sunshine in a bottle.
