Dia de Madre – Mother’s Day 2017

Chef Ewen Crawford has decided to run the full a la carte menu for Mother’s Day, plus seasonal specials (depending what our farmers and foragers bring in that week). We’ve had a chat with a mate from the weather bureau and it looks like Mother’s Day is going to be cool.
So imagine taking mum out for a piece of beautifully charred Wagyu with potato crisps and black pickled garlic. Perhaps with a glass of red from La Rioja. Or an exquisitely succulent beef cheek served on a bed of cauliflower puree finished with a reduction of sweet Pedro Ximenez sherry. Sounding good? You’d start with perhaps a glass of cava or a fino sherry. This is the natural choice if you’re having a plate of jamon and then our famous anchovy with smoked tomato sorbet.
