GOOD FOOD FOR A GOOD CAUSE

A one-night fundraiser dinner for Animal Abbey Wildlife Sanctuary at MoVida Next GOOD FOOD FOR A GOOD CAUSE

On Monday 25 May, MoVida Next will host a one-night-only fundraiser dinner in support of Animal Abbey Wildlife Sanctuary – the Victorian sanctuary dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and protecting native wildlife, including wombats.

One sitting, 40 seats, and a specially curated $160 set menu from the MoVida team. All proceeds go directly to the sanctuary's ongoing work.

The idea has its roots in one of Frank Camorra's stays in Kyneton. A large wombat wandered down the hallway one afternoon and into the living room. Not long after, Frank was introduced to a neighbour, Sam, who runs Animal Abbey, and found himself quickly attached to its young rescued wombats. That encounter stayed with him long after returning to Melbourne, and eventually became the inspiration for this dinner.

The evening will bring together generous Spanish cooking, good wine and good company in support of the quiet, ongoing work that keeps the sanctuary running.

The dinner is also supported by long-time MoVida producers and suppliers: Clams Seafood, Meredith Dairy, Savour and Grace, La Boqueria, Meredith Farm Produce and Alimentaria – who are donating produce and wine for the evening.

About Animal Abbey Wildlife Sanctuary

Founded by wildlife carer Sam, Animal Abbey Wildlife Sanctuary provides rescue, rehabilitation and long-term care for vulnerable native animals, with a special focus on wombats and other wildlife in need of ongoing protection.

What began as a deeply personal commitment to caring for injured and orphaned animals has grown into a sanctuary built on patience, compassion and relentless hands-on work. From late-night rescues to round-the-clock feeding and rehabilitation, the sanctuary provides a safe place for animals that often have nowhere else to go.

The work is constant, practical and community-supported, relying heavily on donations and fundraising to continue caring for the animals that call Animal Abbey home.
