Final stop for this year’s Regional Series. ¡CATALUNYA!

Tucked between the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean, Catalunya is a part of Spain where the cooking has always looked outwards. Centuries of trade brought influences from France and Italy, and you still see them in the way Catalans cook today.

Think rich pasta dishes and mar i muntanya, mountain and sea, where cuttlefish and meatballs end up happily on the same plate. It makes sense when you look at the place. High mountains tumble down to the coast, and the food moves between the two.
