Albamar PAI Albarino

  • Producer: Albamar

Named in tribute to his father, Luis, who planted the family's Albariño vines, Xurxo Alba's Pai is a richer, more textured take on Rías Baixas' signature white. Where Albamar's entry-level bottling leans lean and saline, Pai is built for volume and weight: Xurxo blends parcels fermented with and without malolactic conversion, and with and without oak contact, to layer in extra body and roundness while keeping the wine's acidity bright and well-integrated.

The result is a fuller, more generous Albariño without losing that unmistakable Atlantic edge — think ripe orchard fruit and citrus wrapped around a core of salty, granite-driven minerality. It's a small-production wine, just a few thousand bottles a year, from a family that's been farming this corner of the Salnés Valley for generations.

Some say the future of Spanish wine lies in its past. If that’s true, Envínate’s already there — four mates making wild, beautiful wines with one foot in the old world and the other kicking down the door.
