El Galayo Garnacha Tinto is crafted from organically farmed vineyards across the Cebreros DO in the northern reaches of Sierra de Gredos. The region is composed of high altitude vineyards planted on granite soils with bush vines only, all of which are a minimum of 50 years old.
Serious terroir and vineyards require serious thoughtful winemaking, enter Jesus Soto. He moved to the region in the mid 2000's after he fell in love with the landscape. From here he helped re-build the local co-operative winery to produce pure expressions of Cebreros wines.
Dark cherry, sarsaparilla, black pepper, dried herbs and a bit of mushroom character in scents and flavours. The palate works a firm, grippy line of tannin to bring this all back in line. Medium bodied at most its a wonderful entry into Gredos!
