Bodegas Cerrón Remordimiento Chardonnay

  • Producer: Bodega Cerrón

Bodegas Cerrón is a family estate rooted in the high-altitude vineyards of Fuente-Álamo in southeast Spain, where viticulture has been shaped by isolation, altitude, and time rather than trend. Working primarily with old-vine Monastrell grown on limestone-rich soils at up to 1,000 metres above sea level, the Cerrón family champions organic farming and minimal intervention to express freshness and finesse in a region more often associated with power. Their wines bridge history and modernity, drawing on generations of local knowledge while redefining Jumilla through elegance, restraint, and a clear sense of place.

Cerrón’s Chardonnay showcase how this Jumilla producer brings fresh, mineral-driven white wines to a region better known for reds. Remordimiento sees some barrel influence and lees contact, adding subtle toasty, smoky complexity and a balanced interplay of fruit, freshness and minerality that reflects the high-altitude, limestone-rich vineyards where the grapes are grown.

Some say the future of Spanish wine lies in its past. If that’s true, Envínate’s already there — four mates making wild, beautiful wines with one foot in the old world and the other kicking down the door.
