Casa Castillo 'Las Gravas'

  • Producer: Casa Castillo

Las Gravas comes from a vineyard planted by José Maria's father Nemesio, on a blanket of broken stone that covers the bedrock some 30cm below. It's this soil that gives Las Gravas its distinct mineral stamp.

The vineyard was originally planted with local grapes, as well as Syrah, Cabernet and Merlot, which were grown on trellises rather the local custom of low bush vines.

Today the wine is focused only on the old vine Monastrell and Garnacha planted on that stunning white gravel that gives this wine it's name. Perfumed and light on it's feet, there is density of complexity and a brooding nature of the site. One of Casa Castillo's most desirable wines that rivals so many other in Spain too.

Go Wine Yourself.

Some say the future of Spanish wine lies in its past. If that’s true, Envínate’s already there — four mates making wild, beautiful wines with one foot in the old world and the other kicking down the door.
