Envinate 'Migan' Tinto

  • Producer: Envinate - Tenerife

Migan comes from a very old vineyard in the Valle de la Orotava subzone of the Tenerife island. Although, as much of the wines from Envinate, they don't bear the DO stamp. The vineyard sits between the towns of San Antonio & La Perdoma (the historical name of La Perdoma is Migan). These old vines are all trained on the traditional 'Trenzado' trellis: braids of new and old shoots, so much so that the vines looks like dreadlocks.

The wine is a straight expression of Listan Negro. The grapes are partially destemmed (between 10-20% whole bunch) and aged in 600L old oak barrels for 11 months.

Migan is one of the more structured and powerful wines from Envinate, that benefits from a bit of time in bottle and decanter.

Go Wine Yourself.

Some say the future of Spanish wine lies in its past. If that’s true, Envínate’s already there — four mates making wild, beautiful wines with one foot in the old world and the other kicking down the door.
